What happens if my appliance breaks down?
The first thing to do is get the details of your plan together with the make and model of your appliance and contact our team on 03030 031085 or by emailing support@applianceprotect.co.uk. It is sometimes possible to resolve appliance issues by telephone guidance. If the fault cannot be resolved in this way, we will arrange for an engineer visit to inspect and repair your appliance where appropriate.
If, in the engineer's opinion, a repair is not reasonably possible, we may arrange to replace your appliance with a model that has the same or similar specification, up to a maximum value of £500. If we cannot reasonably arrange for a suitable replacement, we may offer vouchers instead. The voucher value will be based on the price of the similar appliance offered and will not exceed the maximum plan value.
You will be responsible for delivery, installation and disposal costs where your appliance is replaced unless we confirm otherwise in writing. Benefits are at our sole and total discretion and depend on correct plan information being supplied.
What are the limits of the plan?
There is no fixed limit on the number of repair requests you can make, provided the plan is active and all payments are up to date. You must have paid a minimum of 35% of the plan cost to qualify for repair service. If your appliance is replaced, the plan relating to that appliance ends and the replacement reverts to the manufacturer’s warranty.
The plan does not cover pre-existing faults, generic manufacturing defects, faults reported before the exclusion period ends or faults arising where payments are missed. Any balance outstanding under the plan must be paid in full before repair or replacement options are considered.
Your Obligations
Your appliance must have been installed, used and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. It must be owned by you, used for domestic purposes only, and installed at the domestic address you provided. The appliance must be easily accessible for inspection or repair.
You must provide accurate make, model, contact and address information. Failure to provide accurate information may invalidate your plan and its benefits.
What is not covered?
The plan does not cover accidental damage, cosmetic damage, blockages, recalled appliances, damage caused by the domestic electrical or gas supply, consumables, light bulbs, batteries, fuses, filters, accessories or damage caused by storage devices or connected equipment.
The plan does not cover loss of earnings, consequential losses, waiting time, delivery costs, installation costs, damage to property, personal injury or repairs not authorised by us or not carried out by an approved engineer.
Renewals
Your plan may be automatically renewed after your agreed plan ends. We will contact you prior to the plan end date to discuss renewal. You may contact us before expiry if you do not wish to renew.
Amendments
We reserve the right to charge an administration fee of £75.00 for changes or amendments you make to your plan.
